A succulent 'saltwort' plant native to the Mediterranean, agretti is a delicious crop reminiscent of samphire with a very slight salty flavour to its juicy fronds. It's delicious raw or steamed (very briefly, it's nicest if it retains its crunch!) We add it to our salad mix but it's a great stand alone to pair with other dishes, like in a simple spaghetti dish with parmesan, lemon and pepper. It is a great source of fibre.
